finger picking is easy for some people and difficult for others!. It is very very difficult for me and sometimes i'm tempted to throw the guitar out the window or smash it into tiny pieces but!.!.!.the more i've practiced the better i've gotten!.
i would say to not make it your strong point but to practice at least until you get fairly good at it!.
other people excel with different aspects of the guitar!.!.
like some people who can shred can't play chords (that's me) and some people who can play chords could never solo
just take your strengths and apply them however you need be!.!.but always work on your weaknesses because in time they'll become proficient enough!.
mastering any instrument or even becoming good on one takes a long long time!.!.!.i've been playing drums, bass, guitar and keyboards for 15 years and i'm only intermediate at all of them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Finger picking is difficult because you have to actually PLAY the darn thing and not just strum!.!.!. it takes more thought and it helps a whole lot if you can READ MUSIC!.

I play a classical Alvarez for relaxation and I play CLASSICAL music and the only way to do that is by finger picking!. In case you wonder!.!.!. I like the challenge of playing classical music on a classical guitar AND I can work out some combinations that I can use when playing a concert on the Acoustics, because a lot of classical music can easily be worked into modern songs for that "gee!.!.!. that sounds familiar" effect it has on the audience!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
