Question: When learning to play guitar do you have to start acoustic!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Okay, I've been playing guitar for about three years now, and I can tell you that starting off with an electric guitar is a million times easier than acoustic!.

I've always been told that you're suppose to start off with an acoustic guitar because it's "easier", but it's really not!. The strings are more tense, and a lot harder to hold and play for beginners!. On an electric, the strings are not tense at all, and they are really comfortable to hold!.

So I would definitely recommend starting off with an electric because it's a LOT easier!.!.!.!.trust me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You Do not have to, and you shouldn't think you have to!.!.!.!.!.!.the best thing about guitars is PLAY WHAT FEELS RIGHT TO YOU! if acoustic feels nice learn on an acoustic, if electric feels nice learn on an electric, also take into consideration the type of music you will play Like if you want soft rock and pretty sounds!.!.!.!.!.go for acoustic!.!.!.!.If you want that ballsy sound of electric than go for electric!.!.!.!.its all a matter of opinion i have learned both and i have a preference to elec and its nice to learn both! but go to a guitar shop try em both and see what fits!Www@QuestionHome@Com

No
but starting on one will make your fingers stronger faster!.
the string gauge and action on an acoustic makes it harder to play and to learn on!.!. but after some time you pick up a good playing electric and its like Bamm!!! instant joyWww@QuestionHome@Com
