Question: What are some prestigious youth orchestras that accept middle-school-aged musicians!?
My 11-year-old daughter has demonstrated a talent for the flute!. We are very excited that she has been accepted into a county-level youth orchestra after her first-ever audition, and she is already asking about auditioning next spring for some more competitive orchestras!.

I am a newbie at this!. Does anyone have any first hand experience (as a musician, instructor or parent) with any of the larger youth orchestras!? Are certain youth orchestras known to be more prestigious or competitive than others!? Anyone advice from flutists would be great!.

Location is not really an issue - I have a job where I can literally work from any place, and feel that if she ends up having some unbelievable level of talent (who knows - we're having fun blue-skying right now), I'd do what I can to encourage it!. She loves to play!.!.!.and it's just fun to see your kid really blossom at something!.

Thanks all -Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi, I'm a professional violinist!. You should check out National Youth Orchestra!. They're amazing!. Lots of the city youth orchestras are really good!. You could also check out your nearest city's amateur adult orchestras!. also, London's music colleges (Royal Academy, Trinity, Royal College, Guildhall) have junior departments on saturday where talented children can have lessons and join ensembles!.
Good luck to your daughter!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The issue really is -- as you stated -- how far do you want to drive!. But I would consult with her private teacher (I assume she's taking private lessons!?) You should let them be the guide in these issues!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
