How do i become advanced in Cello if my teacher(who is fat and trash) is not willing to teach me!? also how long should i practice each night!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can always get a new teacher but things that you can do on your own are:

1) Scales: whole note, quarter note, eigth, sixteenth, with rhythms (slurred and separate)(with and without metronome)
2) Arpeggios: whole, quarter, eigth, sixteenth, with rhythms (slurred and separate)(with and without metronome)
!.3) Octaves!. Play a song in several different octaves and it will improve your playing
4) Don't do any of those for too long!. You can really strain yourself until you're used to it!.
5) Work on your etudes!. Popper will whip your technique into shape!. Duport!.
6) When you practice your pieces don't just learn the notes kinda in tune and kinda with the right rhythm!. You do it with the metronome and checking with your open strings (unless you have perfect pitch) until its PERFECT!.
7) Don't forget warm up and cool down, it not going to be easy so it will be better just to chill!.

If you are talking about your school teacher, then just get a private teacher and apply what you learn there to your school music!. If you are talking about a private teacher, then just change teachers!.

The main thing with a private teacher is that the person really knows the instrument and you feel that you learn something at every lesson!.

When practicing at night!. Always start with a stretching exercise and then work into training drills!. A drill is something you do that specifically works a certain issue!. Next, you focus on the parts of your music that you don't do well!. Work slowly and then bring it up to speed!.
