Well I use Hill rosin personally, but pirastro has some lovely rosin!. You really need to try a few to see what you like!. Do you like darker or lighter rosin!? If you don't know maybe get one of each and really see what suits you and the climate you live in!.

As for strings, I used to use Helicore, but now I use Thomastik spiracore (G and C) and Larsen (A and D)!. Thomastik is really very good!. Again, you have to decide what you like!. I enjoy the heavier silver wrapping on my C string, but its a very personal preference!. Again, you might have to try them out!. It will take a while since a good set will cost you almost $200!. I spent about $175 last time on my strings!. You need to change them about every 6 months!. My G string is a bit too old!.!.!.hee hee!. I just couldn't find the string I wanted at the music store!. But you can order at sharmusic!.com as well!.

I'm going to try a different string for my D string next time!. I want it to be more vibrant!. You must experiment to find YOUR preference!.
