Being a music promoter!.!.!.!. interesting question!. It all depends on :

1!. What type of music you want to produce with your band!.
2!. Do you honestly want to be in a band, deal with the stress, and hasstle of: Late practices, shows, parental permission to play out!.
3!. Stressing about your music!.
4!. Writing your music!.
5!. Getting the right people into your band!.
6!. Copywriting your material!.
7!. Getting a manager and promoter!.

And pretty much signing your life away to a life of music!. I work with people who are a lot older tha you are!. And they struggle to work to pay their bills and then go out after work and play a gig!. It's not easy! PERIOD! It may look easy from watching it on TV, but rest assure I have put shows together with bands, it's far from it!

If you want to see what really goes on behind closed doors ask a musician that plays locally, what it's like and how hard it is!. They may say that it's easy to play, but ask them about their personal life and how they get along with their significant other!. What really goes on in band pracitices!.

Shoot I have a band where the lead singer is a good friend of mine, but she has been working on putting together their first real album!. It's now taken her over a year to lay the track down and she's still not done! It's not easy in any way shape or form!. So just "starting" a band isn't easy, you also have to have money to back yourselves!. Pay for promotions so you get people paying to come to your gigs!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've done this before as a keyboard player!.

1st you see if you can play, (for keyboard if they have a musical ear enough to learn unwritten parts for lack of tabs) and what you play, for example unless nessasary you should normaly need 1 bass player!.

2nd you identify Your reasorces, weather you have nice, talented, efasis on talented friends/family that play what you don't play and like the similar type of music, unless nessasary and are willing to divote time to your effort

3rd If you dont have friends that play, I realy dont recommend this but post ads for starting a band

4th Learn your parts individualy, and finaly meet up at rehersals and have fun!

1st, decide what kind of a band you want!. Then, gather a few friends!. They don't all need to have any musical talent whatsoever!. You guys can all get lessons! Wait until you get good, then share your talent with the world and go perform! I did this once and we broke up because I started it and I thought that since I started it I am the boss!.

Make sure you guys agree altogether on everything! So, if you start it, remember that you are all a team and nobody is the boss!.
