Proper technique for turns in marching band...?

Question: Proper technique for turns in marching band!.!.!.!?

When you do left and right turns in marching band, what is the proper technique!? You usually have 4 counts to do a 90 degree turn, correct!? When you go one direction do you turn with your toes more up and the other direction are they are more down (and your heels are up)!? Which direction is which way!? Is that even close to right!? Help! I need to get my technique on turns better! What is the proper form!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on what your band does!. Each band uses different techniques or different ways to march
But yes it is!.!.!. at least for my band!.!.!. 4 counts to do a 90 degree turn!.

Well if you're just talking about doing turns while standing still, it depends on what techniques your band uses!. We have 4 counts to do a 90 degree turn!. We only move the front part of our feet; we keep our heel down and it just sorta moves with the rest of your foot!. Depending on how your feet are positioned in attention, how you move your feet will slightly differ!. Our attention is a 45 degree angle, so in a left turn we would have to move our left foot slightly more to maintain that 45 degree angle!. You should be halfway there as of count 2!.

It depends on what your band uses!. I can't really describe the turns through this but you can find them online or ask your band director how to do them!. Theres the drag turn which is 4 steps in 90 degrees and then theres the right/left-face which is 2 steps in 90 degrees!. The drag turn is much slower and fluid while the right/left-face is fast and crisp!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
