$500 is a decent price for a beginning violin!. You want to be sure you buy it from a luthier(violin specialist) and that you play it and make sure it suits you!. Don't buy on the internet!. An advanced violin goes from $1,500 to $15,000+!. Haha, but $2,000-$5,000 is a normal range!. Along with that, however, you want a great bow, great strings, great shoulder rest, rosin, etc!. Don't neglect the bow!. It can make such a HUGE difference!.

Good luck!.

As you probibly know violins can get very costly, when I first started playing I bought a 200 violin, then for a simi advanced one I bought a 700 dollar one, then for my professional one I bought a very nice 2000 dollar violin that I will have the rest of my life!. But it is good to get a 500-700 rangeone because they last longer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
