Acoustic-Electric Guitars?

Question:are they a good choice for a beginner to get?

they are fine for a beginner to get although the strings may be a bit hard on your fingers at first. I bought an acoustic guitar first with 3 nylon strings and 3 metal strings and although you can't hook it up to an amp it makes a very beautiful warm sound and you can always mike it up instead. I bought an electric acoustic later but don't enjoy playing it as much.
just learn a couple chords and go to a shop and have a play with a few different styles and see which you like best. Picking a guitar is very personal i think.

i play guitar! and i just started like last year! i started with a regular acoustic. my dad had a acoustic electric...but he leads worship at my church! i would say either one, just not a electric!

actually it depens on what do you like. because although there is a similarity between the chords and melodies in acoustic and electric guitars but there is a differences on styles I mean playing teqnecs>

so you have to choose the one you like the most
