Position:Home>Performing Arts> Song for two girls to sing.?

Question:So so my friend and i went to a Talent show at our school. And Its the the BEST FREAKEN THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!! So my friend and i wanted to do something for our first year of high school next year. It doesn't necasarilly have to be a song sung by 2 ppl. But the song must be awesome!

We both have a thing for Alternative and Rock. I was thinking maybe Janie's got a gun by Aerosmith and she wanted something like Good Enough by Evensence or Bubbly(the worst song in the world in my opinion) or like a good pop song but not overplayed.
Plz not to many high notes and not to hard!!
Thnx in advance

Emergency by Paramore, or anything by Paramore for that matter..... of you could sing Curse of Curves by Cute Is What We Aim For, i LOVE that song and it's never played on the radio!

cryin by aerosmith (:

O.K... So.... maybe a Good Charlotte song? What about one of Kelly's old ones, like Breakaway or Behind These Hazel Eyes? What about Taylor Swift? Everyone LOVES her! Maybe Our Song or Picture To Burn? If you are a country fan, try a Carrie Underwood song..... maybe Shania Twain?

Hey I will come back to this and list some more songs (I'm looking some up right now) but there are many alternatives to the classic overplayed pop songs. Why not try something from a modern rock-musical on Broadway, like Rent or Spring Awakening?

The songs from Spring Awakening are not musical theatre-esque because they are not part of the story like sing-talking, but rather separate songs like monologues from an alternative rock album. They are all fairly simple and middle-range, so if you want samples/songs I could send some to you.

Good luck!

Sing "Don't do sadness/Blue Wind" from Spring Awakening. It's for a guy and a girl, but the lyrics aren't gender specific. Just a few minor key changes and it is highly do-able. Even though it's from a Broadway show the style is VERY Alternative Rock-esque. Good luck!

I'm going to have to say a Tegan and Sarah song. If you don't know them, then I'd recommend "Where does the good go" and "Back in Your Head" they're two sisters that usually share the vocals, and they're one of the most pure alternative/indie rock groups I know.

Definitely something to check out, especially considering the instrumentation is very easy too; just about anyone could learn to play the songs on an instrument within a year.
