It means the 3rd of the chord is "suspended" temporarily as a 2nd or 4th. Usually it resolves back to the 3rd. The most complete way to play Gsus4 on a guitar is 3 3 5 5 5 3 where the top number is the fret for the high E string, and the bottom number is the fret for the low E string. |
