Suspended bottom G in the G chord. ie dont play the bottom G note only the top G

It could refer to a Gsus2 chord, but it's more likely referring to a Gsus4 chord. It means the 3rd of the chord is "suspended" temporarily as a 2nd or 4th. Usually it resolves back to the 3rd.
