Well, yes and no.
Because television game show have very specific rules now regarding how many you can do per year and in your lifetime. The actually check a database to see if you participated in any televised shows within the last year. All of the rules came up after a game show scam in the 50's-(it is the story that inspired the movie "Quiz Show". For example I was on Hollywood Squares and won a small prize but was the not the big winner. Since I saw how easy it was I wanted to audition for another show, But I had to wait a year from the air date of the first game show I was on to film another. I eventually did wait and went on anther show, but they were really cautious about being so close to the year mark, before they booked my appearance. FYI I believe you can only do 5 game shows in your life time. (I think I remember them telling us that specifically) o I really don't think you can make a living unless you are game show genius and you win big five times in a row. Even then you have to get CAST 5 times in a row. The people who cast you don't want people with alot of televison exposure because they want the viewers to believe you are an average person just like them-winning. so to cast someone who has done three or four game shows runs the risk of viewers thinking it's fixed-so they want fresh meat.

On the other hand if the contests are not regulated in anyway like public contests....the you could make a living...Like people who do a string of reality show (yes the paid!) Like Real World Road Rules Challenge...or Survivor All stars.
I had friend who made a living (a small one) going city to city doing Karaoke contests. Or people who enter hot dig eating contests and dog shows, or pageants. The could I guess make a living but when it comes to pageants and dog shows its seems they put more money into it than what they win.
I hope this helps!

im not sure, why dont you be the first to try it!

Tiger Woods is making at least $4.27 an hour playing golf tournaments. There was Ken Jennys that made over 2 million on one of the game shows. I don't think they have a circuit. (except for golf of course)
