Position:Home>Performing Arts> What kind of guitar would be best to get if I am just learning how to play types

Question:I need to get the guitar I want because I hate the sound of the Acoustic, and it's definitely not the best guitar for playing metal. Any suggestions?

Stupid answer - Go to a guitar shop and get the one you like. If you decide not to continue, you've at least got a cool conversation starter . . .

Complicated answer - as a beginner, I myself went the route of "get any cheap, brand name guitar and just start playing". You can worry about getting a "real" guitar (as the snobby guitar afficionados would call them) when you get good and have learned how to screw with the guitar components.

The key here is to go to a guitar store, the people there would like to steer you towards the better products, but at least you know the stuff they sell will get you by enough to make you want to continue.

Remember, it's not the guitar, it's the player.

Good luck!

fender stratocaster

Get an ESP LTD their starting price is $200 and sound great. I own 2 of them or you can go with Dean also its hard to get a good metal sound out of a fender.

Often people say, the more expensive the guitar the better quality and smooth (or metal) sound you will get, but honestly what I think it really matter is the type of amplifier you get, if you get cheap Amp the quality you project won't be as good.
Bottom line, buy any guitar you like and try buying suitable amp not to cheap and not to expensive.
