Position:Home>Performing Arts> GUITAR PICK ? Is there a difference between tortex and derlin?

Question:besides the feel. Is there a difference in terms of resistance-for instance, if I have a .73 tortex and .73 derlin are they going to have the same resistance against the strings? I know nylon picks give more because of the softer material.
Thanks

They are very similar - Tortex picks are a brand name - delrin is the material used. I think Tortex adds something to make them less slippery. I use only Tortex .73s now. They are the equivalent of Fender Mediums (celluloid) but they last longer than 5 minutes, unlike celluloid. I think they changed the formula for celluloid - they didn';t used to crack so easily. Anyway, Tortex is the way to go.
