Position:Home>Performing Arts> I have a Jasmine Acoustic Guitar and...?

Question:I don't like it. I don't know why. There was a guitar I played at a camp one time, and I liked it a lot, but I don't like this one. I'm thinking of selling mine, once I get out of college. I only played it 3 times, but the e string broke when my cousins tried to tune it, however I've replaced it since. What i want to know is how much I could resell it for. I've had it for a year, but like I said rarely played it.

Next time, be a little bit more specific on the model, luckily, however, I can answer this. Jasmine guitars normally sell between $150- $200 at a music store. Since it's only been used 3 times, and some new strings could help its value, I'd sell somewhere in between... $100- $120. Best place to sell these type of guitars would be Craig's list. Ebay would not work because everyone on Ebay is pretty greedy. Be warned about buying guitars, that acoustic you played at camp, might have been some years old, and the one you are going to buy will most likely be from a person, or a music store. The sound will probably not be the same because as wood ages, the instrument itself becomes better to play, the sound is alot crisper, and the frets will be easy to slide up and down with. New guitars (acoustic guitars especially), will not sound as good than used ones, so if you're going to buy that same guitar, I'd suggest buying it aged around 3-5 years.
