Unlike any of the other responders so far, I am a professional flutist and flute teacher, and competition judge, in NY. There is no *company* called Ashbury - this is cheap trash that has a name slapped on it. You are far better served, for the SAME money, to get a used Pearl 501, Yamaha 200 or 300 series, Emerson, Jupiter 600 series, or similar flute. Got to www.fluteworld.com. If a flute is listed THERE, it is worhjt buying. If not - then chances are it is not. Yes, dealerships have franchises with certain companies, so also look at Jeff Smith, Carolyn Nussbaum, Phil Unger, and Jeff Weissman's shop - all FLUTE houses, not big-box band instrument places. If you spend a little more money, and then QUIT - you are far more likely to resell a good flute and get more of your money back., If you buy the flute you asked about, you will NEVER resell it - might as well make a lamp out of it when it falls apart - because it WILL fall apart, and most techs refuse to work on such garbage.

yes

ashbury is an excellent flute! however, when buying instruments i find myself swaying toward the brands of Monique and Yamaha.

yeah if u rlly want it just make sure ur gettin good price! lol )^

I not really sure. But I know Yamaha is a good one. But I think that a Ashbury is good. I haven't really head of it before.
I hope I helped.

I'd suspect that this off-brand flute will play, but it won't hold up. I have an off-brand sax, and in just 10 years of sporadic use, it's falling apart.

The very best brands are Haynes, Powell, and Pearl. You'll pay, minimum, many hundreds of dollars for one of those (that's if you find it on ebay or shopgoodwill.com).

Some excellent brands are Armstrong, Yamaha, Selmer, Gmeinhardt.

Bundy is a very solid model for the beginner, and you can find old Artley student models for peanuts!
