Position:Home>Performing Arts> I'm a trumpet player and I wanted to know how to get high? And what to do to

Question:Generally speaking, it's easier for trumpet players to play high notes after they practice their lower range a LOT.

When playing high notes, don't "squeeze" or "pinch" your embouchure. It might solve the problem now, but it'll make you sound bad in the long run.

The person before me was right: getting high notes out is mostly air. Don't think of the higher pitch as being "up", but rather "across". (Confusing, huh?) Basically, try to push as much air as you can across through your trumpet, but don't try to make it sound "loud" either.

(It's sort of hard to explain...sorry...)
