Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Preferably the advice of someone with experience in this matter is what I'm looking for :)

1. Get your CD demo made first. Keep it down to a minimum of no more than 3 songs on it. You don't want overkill when giving it out people or Record Labels. This is the best way for people to hear your music. I've heard some MP3 of some songs...and they sound terrible. I'm not a big fan of MP3s because of the bad quality of them. So, as an Artist. It's much better to count on your CD demos for to let people listen to your music.

2. Also, have a good attractive CD cover too. Believe it or not. More people are willing to listen to a CD Cover with an attractive cover on it than some blank Jewel Case with a blank CD and some Sharpie marks on it. Because it catches their eyes when they first see it. It's all about your presentation & professionalism when displaying your music to future fans or Record Labels.

3. When making a REAL Professional CD demo.
You need to
1. Record
2. Mix
3. Edit
4. Master
Your songs.

Also keep in mind that most Studios
charge around $50 or higher depending on where
you go to Master EACH song. If you have 5 songs
for example..save an extra $250 to covering your
Mastering costs.

5. Also, be preared to give some FREE CD demos too in the beginnging because you are trying to get your music out to any people as possible. IF people really like your music....then later you can sell your CDS for a set price later after you have good following of fans. Also, keep your prices fair...not crazy. Your goal is to sell your CDs at a fair price they can afford.

6. Buy good and decent gear....because junk gears always breaks down on you a lot and you will be spending a lot of time and money on guitar repairs, etc.

7. Also, pass out free flyers too at your local music store in your town too. This may be old fashioned, BUT it still works and is very, very effective in getting people attracted to your music. Don't neglect this aspect of your Music Career either.

8. Good luck

of course there's always a.) write fantastic music. when you do that, people do a lot of talking as it is. following up with that it helps a lot to make band-buddies, if you will, and book venues with them, therefor doubling your audience. Self promotion, which is the most difficult due to laziness, is also key. In that sense, hitting every surrounding area with notifications or fliers before an upcoming show always helps a turn out. Having recorded material is a plus and close to a must. Giving this out for free, or free with the purchase of other merchandise at shows give encouragement and helps the audience keep you in mind.

All you really have to do are two things.

1) be very good at what you do. This is where most people have trouble.

2) play locally, you will meet many other musicians. Every lousy person you meet has a connection somewhere to someone else who is in the business. Somewhere. The more people you get to hear you play and the more people you get to know, the better off you're going to be.

That's it!
That's all!
Practice!
I wish you the best!

Here's easy and quick to read ways:
1.) Perform at small venues and work your way up to larger more outstanding venues
2.) Get a home recording studio and make demos and pass out to people in the mall or on the streets
3.) Make a myspace page and put your music on it and then add bands and people asking them to check out your music.
There's the quickest way to do it.

Go where you'll find and create your following. Once
there PRAY always to the Master Creator. Praise Him/Her
and give thanks. Then hold on to your britches. Success
will chase YOU down.
