Question:Okay...

Should I stick with Acoustic Guitar or Electric Guitar?

I've actually been having a debate about this for quite a while now.

I like acoustic because of its pretty sounds and it's fingerpicking and styles. And I also like to sing along with the songs if I know them. I also play acoustic in my church band so I like it then too..

But I like electric as well, because I like metal and rock as well. I like playing the solo's and the riffs in metal are awesome! I occassionally play electric in church too.

I'm asking now because I'm about to buy a new guitar soon and I have to choose whether acoustic or electric..

Thanks!

I play classical, acoustic, and finger style, so you know what I'm going to pick, the acoustic......I love the sound of a guitar without an amp.....but I also love rock, but when someone else is playing it, rock didn't come as natural to me as did using my fingers.....now my father was the opposite, he hated anything that wasn't electrified!!!!!!! My advice to you is to buy what you love best... which one do you need the most, you said that you played both, so which guitar is in need of a new one ???? Which guitar still sounds good ???? Keep the best sounding one, and the one that you love the most !!!

I'm personally more of a 'get one good reliable acoustic and a bunch of specialized electrics' type of guy. Only I have yet to get a bunch of specialized electrics... I play acoustic as much as I play electric, but I'd get an electric.

They're guitars, play both. I own four guitars, two electric, and two acoustic. Three of them are 12 string.

Why do you have to choose? If you enjoy playing both, keep them. You're not prohibited from owning an acoustic and electric guitar at the same time. I have 11 electrics and 2 acoustics. variety is the spice of life. develop your skills on both and you'll be a much better player for it.
