Question:I am in 8th grade going to Kennesaw Mountian High School!!!!! (go mustangs) We are the 2nd leading in the nation for Marching Band, if I join color guard do you think that I will have to travel. They plan on going to Cali soon, but do colorgaurds have to go?

Yeah, if you join, you're going to have to travel. Colorguard is a part of the whole show, so when your band travels, you travel. They may have a situation where there's a sort of "varsity" or "Jr. varsity" kind of thing, and maybe only the "varsity" people would travel a very long way.

But really, seriously, colorguard is part of the band, so expect to have to travel with the band.

it should depend on what they plan on doing in cali. if it is a marching band event then yes. if they are going for concert band then no but you may have the option of going. all schools are different i would ask when you have a meeting before guard auditions of at the auditions.
