the 2 differences between guitar and bass guitar is that the bass is 2 octaves lower and also when reading sheet music the bass guitar is written in bass clef whereas reg. guitar is in treble clef. i play guitar and and take lessons and my dad has a bass guitar and then i have my regular guitars so i like to play on both. you probably don't need to take lessons just learn to read bass clef, which i wouldn't pay for if i were you. good luck, hope ya have fun.

since the instruments are very simlar, i think you could. get some lessons, practice and you should be good.

The answer is yes. You've experienced with guitar, so it will be easy to learn how to play bass. Even if somebody cannot play guitar, bass is still able to be learned. I can't play guitar, but I'm a bassist for a band right now. just learn, read all reference, practice everyday. GOOD LUCK!
