I don't know that model particularly, but I can tell you that Takamine does a nice job generally. The key to any beginner acoustic guitar is the "action"---just a word to describe the height of the strings off of the neck/frets. You want it to be as low as possible---for comfort---without buzzing. You can worry about the wood and the scale and all of that other stuff when you get beyond the beginner stage.

For a first guitar, if it hurts you to play it, ie the action is too high, you won't and that will be the end of it. So, go to a music store, and try your Takamine and some other lower priced axes, and see which one feels the best. That's the one to buy, for the time being.

Like most taks, the jasmine is a reasonably good inexpensive guitar. I don't like acoustic guitars that have their electronics built in, but what are you going to do, almost all of them do that now.

There are, I believe, better deals out there than the Jasmine, even among takemines.

they are good quality,
