It's very very hard to get a record company executive to listen to a CD 'cold' and this isn't the way most people 'make it' in the industry. Instead, send one to all the local press to get reviewed (weekly papers, daily papers, etc) with a press release and a bio about you and your music and ideally a picture of you. If any radio stations have a local show or if there is a community station, send them there as well. Meanwhile, start trying to get some shows and get your music out there. If you aren't of age to be in a bar yet, think coffee shops, record stores, etc. Some states do allow people under 21 in a bar if they are there to play music or if it is during certain times. It takes a TON of work to get even a little bit close to 'making it' in music, but if you really are good and think you can succeed and it's what you want...go for it. Remember, though, it's never as easy as sending out CDs and getting discovered. It takes years and years of really hard work. Good luck!

i am also a singer and hav ethe same goals. however its not that easy just to send a demo out and hope for a contract. yo have to find a band play gigs its alot of hard work. depending on where you live this may be easy. i livein new orleans so its easy to get heard but my best advice would be to try and get noticed playing gigs and after you are ready and have ORIGINAL songs, then make a demo adn try to find a local label to sign you. hope this helps and good luck on your search for fame.
