I don't know about playwriting in particular, but John August is a professional screenwriter. He has a blog where he discusses many screenwriting topics and tries to help out aspring screen writers. Incase you don't recognize his name, he wrote the Tim Burton version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He also wrote Big Fish and Go. His blog is at http://www.johnaugust.com

There are many similar aspects betweent screenwriting and playwriting, I think.
