there is an incredible song from the secret garden called "Hold On" that i sang for a competition I was recently in.

another good one is "The Rose"

I would suggest choosing a song that you feel comfortable with.

Believe it or not The Star Spangled Banner is a good choice. You have to have good vocal range and the words are some times hard to remember. If you do it a capella it is even better.

If the contest is soon, you should use something you are already very comfortable with, and practice to give it that extra magic. Don't be over ambitious and end up singing something that doesn't suit you.

Get the technical side (breathing, preparation for upcoming high note, etc.) worked out then sing from the heart and really mean it. Don't turn it into vocal acrobatics. Feel as much love as you can muster and give your listeners the song.
Expect to feel a little nervous but use it to make you alert. Don't panic, just focus.
If you must have a specific suggestion, and without knowing your taste, I'll throw in "Love" (Across the Universe)
