Before you do anything. Sit down and have a budget on how you intend to spend first. You cant buy something without having enough money to do it. Do you have $500 or do you have $,1000 to buy your gear. I'm just being realistic here because this is what happens when people start buying guitars, amp, pedals, Mics, P. A.s & etc.

Also, are you gonna use it for practice at home type stuff?
Or you are planning on doing LIVE gigs with it? This is very important to know too as well.

IF you are going to sit at home and just jam for fun...then get a cheap guitar and little practice amp. You can get a cheap Electric guitar for about $200 and a little cheap practice amp for anywhere from $50 to $150.

BUT, if you are planning on, joining or putting together a band to play LIVE gigs with...then get yourself a serious Electric guitar and amp to do it with.

As for for a decent Electric guitar....they can range from anywhere from $300 to $1,000 depeding on what model you pick. Also, a decent amp can cost anywhere from $300 to $1,000 too depending on which model you select.

You go on these sites and read other peoples reviews too on the gear they bought, etc.

Depends on product available in your area. Just Remember: You'll get what you pay for, i.e., a very inexpensive guitar may also be a cheap one and not stay tuned for very long.

You can get a starter package (guitar and practice amp) for around 200 to 350 bucks.

Quality is average, sound will be ok. The amp will be loud enough to play at home.
