The first thing to do is to get involved in any theatre you can. School plays, drama classes, and community theatre are all very good options. You have to be willing to work hard at it though, if that's what you want to do. Another thing a good actor will do is read a lot of plays and watch movies to observe different acting techniques. People watching (sitting in a mall or somewhere else and just observing the people around you) also helps, and you can pick up on the tendencies of different types of people. Usually from there is college classes, and attending any audition you can until you land a role.

usually they start out in school plays or extra curriculars. that wat i think.
(in my opnion the rich ones with over-priveleged families are the sucky actors)
=p

Do you have a community theatre near by? if you do, they usually give acting classes/lessons, and then they have play opportunities. My parents aren't made of money, but we're not poor either, and for normal people like me, those community theatre acting lessons aren't expensive and teach you tons! Good luck! :)

Most begin with participating in local and school plays, theater, taking acting lessons, auditioning for commercials and other small acting jobs then somewhere along the way getting noticed by people with connections in the tv and film industry. It's all about working hard, perfecting your acting skills, and getting yourself out there. Taking advantage of every opportunity that you think will help further your career.
