Position:Home>Performing Arts> Piccolo question, concerning marching band***?

Question:Hello! I march in my school's marching band, and since i'm trying out for a leadership position for next year, i've been pitching in and helping my directors any way I can. Currently I am managing the schools piccolos (such as if they need repairs, which ones need replacing, etc). We have 5 marching piccolos, all are Gemeinhardt 4PMH. I am happy with this model, and it serves our purpose well. There are two that need replaceing, and I was wondering what value should be placed on them... they both need repairs, neither play very well, they don't look too scratched up. I can't put a photo up.... I wish I could. If you have any ideas for me or suggestions, thank you!

Hello!

What needs replacing about them? Do the keys do not seal, or do the piccolos become hard to play because of leaks?
What's wrong with the piccolo exactly...?

Well regardless, if you needed the piccolos replaced, as in fixed, then you would probably want the piccolos to be overhauled.

What an overhaul is you can find at this website that will be listed as a source.

Overhauls can range from 200-500 dollars depending where you go... so be sure to call music repair shops around your city/town.

If you meant replacing the piccolos entirely then that's extensibly more expensive.
