Question:I've been playing guitar for years now but I can't seem to move past the first six or so frets. What can I do/what sources can I read to learn how to move up the fret board?

Scales, scales, scales. There's nothing better than practicing scales over and over to get the dexterity in your fingers to move through the board. Besides that, you'll get a better grip on where notes are on the fretboard in relation to others.

I know it sounds boring, but scales are a must-do. Seriously, trust me on this!

try playing your scales or solos in different ocatives on the neck this will help.

Um - just play higher than the sixth fret for a change.
