well just practice and there is usually a band camp where you go and practice with the marching band at a 4H camp during the summer.
but until then find an old flag and practice twirling it.

Can someone who is in color guard give me some helpful tips? -Thank You so much- Yesssssssssss of course there are camps :) Most likely your school's guard instructors would hold summer camps, marching camps, etc. What you need to know? Hand eye coordination How to count in 4's, 8's, 16's.... HOW TO KEEP BEATS AND RHYTHMS How to march How to listen to music and imagine the attitude and definitely how to act/show emotion. Color guard is all about emotion and strength, and you will learn all these things within this group. After your first year, think about picking up a rifle as well :) I loved color guard, I really miss it now. ps: Try not to argue and bring drama into the group, it really doesn't help the team :/ SENSIBLE ANSWER AND INTERESTING TOO.
