What do you do in guitar class?

Question:Hey all, I'm going to be taking guitar class next year in high school. I'm just wondering other than learning notes and songs what else you do in there? I'm really nervous about being up in front of people and I just started thinking about that!

P.S. I know that all schools and teachers are different, but what do you do in YOUR guitar class?

You may not like the way I teach. First of all, you WILL learn to read music... none of those stupid TABs... when you learn to read music, the whole world opens up to you... just look at all the people who ask here on Yahoo if anyone has the TABs to such and such a song.. where, if they could read music they could just get the piano score.

You will learn basic scales, chords and triads in the first few lessons and I won't even teach you how to play your first song for over a month.

BUT... that is MY way to teach... and nobody SAYS it's the best.. including me... I just feel you need to know a few of the basics before you jump in to learning songs.

in a guitar class you basically listen to the teacher and do watever he says to do.
