Preforming Art School?

Question:I'm looking at going to preforming art school after highschool. I know it's more likely to get in if you have 2 of the 3 elements of preforming art. (singing, dancing, acting). Would playing a musical instrument besides vocal help get you in. I mean, it IS a preformance.

I imagine that the schools all have varying programs that require different skills. For example, Tisch School of Arts at NYU has a musical theater program, and then a vocal program, and a separate drama program. If you audition for the drama program, you don't have to sing, but if you audition for the musical theater program, you have to audition by singing and acting. Check the specific program requirements for the particular school you're applying to. This information should be on their website.
