Question:This is my last year I'll be in the school I'm at now, and I'd really like to go out in a bang. Luckily there's something called "let the stars come out" that our school does. problem is you can only sing songs from musicals!
which sucks because i wanted to write my own song, but anyway, i know i have to find a good song in my key...i'm a saprano 2/ alto 1 if you know any gothic or le miserab time burton kinda musicals I'd really appriciate a reply.
Pick a song you can really act in, because i don't have a beautiful vioce, but i do have alot of character!
thanks!

what about just u wait henry higgins from my fair lady! that you could really act in.

look at the play wicked up on youtube or on google and look for lyricsn and u could find them and also the phantom of the opera

there is Phantom of The Opera, which has a variety of songs, CATS, which has world famous Memory, South Pacific is a good show, The King and I, Lord of Lemancha, Camelot, and also Guys and Dolls.

depending on if you're looking for something more theatrical or classical or sexy, something from phantom of the opera is a lot of soprano, or from Rent.

sad song - I know the truth from AIDA
duet - Written in the stars from AIDA
fun song - mama mia from MAMA MIA!
anything is good for acting from hairspray

You can look at Cole Porters Anything Goes also Wicked is a good musical and if you can sing soprano you can check out The Phantom Of The Opera!

I think the vocal selections book with the sheet music from Nightmare Before Christmas is still available. That sounds perfect - http://www.amazon.com/Tim-Burtons-Nightm...

i would say "wishing you were somehow here again" from the phantom of the opera, sung by christine. or,well its not gothic or anything but it takes some character it "the wizard and i" from the musical "wicked" sung by elphaba.or also from wicked " no good deed goes unpunished" sung by elphaba as well.sorry thats all i could come up with, but if i can help in any way or you have any questions on the above just let me know! good luck and i hope you rock!

I think this is great!!! I wish we had that at our school. Anyway I would try some Jekyll and Hyde. There is a song called "Good N' Evil" that pretty good. Jekyll and hyde has some great songs in minor chords check it out. I love Les Miz. Try some with that too. Phatom of the Opera also. That all I could think of right now

Although it is sung by a guy its a beautiful song- 'This is the Moment' from Jekyll and Hyde. Its so good because you can play around witht he key and transpose it loads and it still has the haunting vibe as it does in its original moment.

Give it a try!

Hope this helps,

M
