Question:Do you name your instruments? I play a few instruments, but I only own guitars. Two to be exact.

I have an Ebony Epiphone SG-400
which I named Becca
And I have a Tobbacco burst Squier Jagmaster (juiced up with Seymore Duncans and better wiring)
which I named Alice.

What about you all, do you name your instruments?
Please list what kind you play and what it's name is if it has one.

No, never named any of them. I've listed mine in order of rank of my personal choice.

1. My number one Guitar - Gibson Les Paul Standard, Cherry Sunbusrt, stock pickups (490)
2. Gibson Explorer - Black - (498)
3. Gibson Les Paul Studio - Alpine White (ebony fretboard) (498)
4. Gibson Les Paul Studio - Work Cherry (Burstbucker Pros)
5. PRS SE Custom - Cherry Sunburst, SD JB Humbuckers
6. Gibson Les Paul Junior (Tobacco sunburst) (p-90)
7. Fender Fat Strat - Tobacco Sunburst, Maple fretboard, SD JB Humbuckers
8. Gibson SG American One. Black
9. Charvel, Black, EMGs

Yep...all the time.

I have an oldschool 70s strat I named candy-cane
A fender all american strat named Kadgrigina
and my black acoustic is named "Monster C*ck*
I have a few others without names.

Haha. you know which instrument i play babe ;) and i've named it simon junior.

I didn't name them but I do call them by the names my little sisters have given them.

I have an acoustic guitar that my youngest sister named "Sasha" when she was three.

I also have a saxophone which she calls "saxy".

Like I said I didn't name them but I do call them by their "names".

I'll be glad to tell my nephew Seymour Duncan that.....he's worked his butt off since childhood trying to perfect the perfect sound for his pickups...he was born and rasied in New Jersey, but moved to California years ago to start his huge business.....I haven't seen him since his Dad died about three years ago, but I e-mail him alot...he does a lot of traveling !!! I have four guitars.... My Fathers Gibson from the late thirtys or earily fiftys I call it my F hole, because of the big F holes in the huge body , it was oringinaly an acoustic but he drilled holes in it and put in pickups to make it electric.....he played the jazz clubs in Philly when I was growing up. My first classical I call the Baby, because it was my first, and my pride and joy. it ws also the guitar that I learned my first importand piece, Spanish Romance..to this day that's one of my favorite pieces, you can hear it played like I do if you go on youtube and type in Peo Kindgren plays Spanish Romace. My new classical guitar I haven't named yet because I haven't even had it a year yet.....I have to have two disks removed from my neck...and it may have an effect on the nerves in my left arm hands and fingers....so I have a lot of trepadation about having it....so I can't spend the time playing like I use to, after about 15 - 20 minutes I have unbearable pain....and they tell me that the operation could effect those nerves so I'm scarded to death, so I haven't given it a name yet, I just refer to it as my new classical......I have a new acoustic also but I've hardly played that yet, but I'm thinking about Barnabas, after the vampire....the soap in the late 60tys.....because of the bite that those steel strings have after thirty odd years of playing nylon, their a lot easier on the fingers then the steel..... well sorry to pour out my problems to you....

That guitar I still have absolutely no idea how to play is named Marcus. He sits in my room... doesn't talk much but he's a handsome devil.

my first git, a beat to heck yamaha 6 string acoustic, was buzz
my favorite, a guild d49 cutaway acoustic was maggie
I now have a parkwood, called sam
my old rhodes piano was red, my original b3 hammond organ was slide, my yamaha clavinova I now own is stacy

yes, name em, they all have distinct personalities

No I don't name them, I've never thought of doing that before. It's a really good idea though!

I play the Viola, and I named my new viola Andariel, after the sword in The Lord of the Rings that Aragorn reforges from the shards of Narsil. It seemed like a cool name.
