I sing good but i want to become better without going to a vocal coach and i do

Question:i posted some videos where i sing heaven by bryan adams. I am 13 and i sing good and in 3 years i am going for american idol? Please help?

You need to be careful with your voice, as once bad technique is learned it can be hard to unlearn, and bad technique can also damage your vocal cords.

Find a reputable vocal coach in your area, and invest in the lessons, if it is really important to you. Many of the most famous vocal artisis of our time retained a vocal coach for their entire career.

Also, remember that you do not need to sound like any like anyone but yourself, and you need to embrace the sound that you make. We already have too many wanna-be's out there, so be original.

you need to get lessons. it will disciplin you to be a better preformer and you won't get better if you do what you think sounds right. sounds mean, but its true. Professionals will improve your skill, tell you what your doing wrong, and do practices to improve specific aspects of your voice.

So you're a beginner and you think you can get by without a teacher? Sorry--no.

Vocalists are the one type of musician that MUST have a teacher. That's because your voice sounds different to yourself than it does to other people (bone conductivity vs. air conductivity). That means that you personally cannot assess your own vocal tone accurately; and as my old flute teacher used to say, "they'll love you for your tone".

Explore programs at local colleges, or ask there for referrals.

If you want to get better without a vocal coach it takes alot of work. Pick ONE singer like Christina Aguilara or Mariah Carey.

Listen to the way she sings and after a while try singing along with it. ONLY, I repeat ONLY listen to this artist for a couple weeks. You will hear your voice start changing and becoming more like the singer you have choosen.

After atleast 2 weeks start listening to ONE different artist. Listen to the way she sings and after a while try singing along with it.

Finally after 4 or more weeks listen to both of the artists all the time. Then take tecniques from both of them. Choose a song of another singer.

First Artist: Christina Aguilara

Second Artist: Mariah Carey

Third Artist: Whitney Houston
