Ordered notes use for guitar solos!

There are many kinds of scales.

There is the chromatic scale, which is all 12 notes repeated again and again.

There is the major scale, (do,re,mi,fa ...) which is a subset of seven members of the chromatic scale.

There are the modal scales, which is a reordering of the major scale, like the minor scale, the myxolidian scale, the phyrygian scale, the doric scale, and so on.

There is the blues scale, which is also a seven note subset of the chromatic scale, but different from the major scale.

finally, there is the pentatonic scale, which is a subset of five notes of the major scale. Most rock guitar riffs are in pentatonic.

Explaining this stuff would take about 20 pages. Look them up.

they are just like piano scales C,D,E,F,G,A,B until you get into pentatonics.
