No one has capured the definition of 'harmonic' yet. A 'harmonic' is

(a) any of a series of musical tones whose frequencies are integral multiples of the frequency of a fundamental tone.

(b) a tone produced on a stringed instrument by lightly touching an open or stopped vibrating string at a given fraction of its length so that both segments vibrate. Also called overtone, partial, partial tone.

This has nothing to do with harmony.

GUITAR FOR SURE!!!!

It's a piano, hands down.

The guitar was designed to be a percussive instrument, whereas the piano was originally designed (long before it was called the piano) to play every single note possible, without having to alter playing style.

The guitar is harmonic only in the sense that it can play what a piano plays. The piano can develop a much more intricate combination of notes to create chords that the guitar just couldn't play.

Remember, the pianist has 10 fingers / digits to play with - the guitarist has only 6 possibilities - 7 string guitars have 7, and using tapping and harmonic styles more, but generally speaking, the piano is far more harmonic.

both

don't forget second answerer, that though the piano is listed in the string family, it can also be considered percussion due to the hammers striking the strings..same for harpsichords because those strings are plucked
