Sound Funny on Camera?

Question:I always sound funny on video cameras. Like whenever im being recorded my voice sounds deeper and nasilier then it realy is. Im interested in acting and im going to start doing student films and other types of film projects. I was wondering would my voice sound different on those cameras or will it not since there more expensive and professional? Is there anything i can do so my voice doesnt sound funny any more?

Honestly thats your voice. I discovered the same thing last year while being video taped. I asked my friends why I sounded so weird and they were like, that is your real voice. I was astonished and very upset, turns out my voice sucks, well from their perspective.

You get used to it. Lots of young people say they sound funny on camera or recorded. That really is what you sound like though.

What you are hearing in your head is a combination of the actual sound and the vibration and resonance of your head.
