Question:Is Barbizon a good modeling/acting school or is it just a scam?

They asked me for an audition and all, for modeling, but my dad is worried...

I tried out. They put you in, but then you have to pay for years of classes. Even then, they can't guarentee you a job. They can take you to auditions to GET an agent, so they're really not even an agency. I've tried out twice- once in California, once in New Jersey, and I really suggest that you not do it. After all, about one in five hundred people who pay the thousands of dollars for the classes actually become a model or actress.... but it's your choice.

I checked it out, and it seems like a valid thing! It does, however, look like it would be incredibly costly. If you're not willing to shell out a lot of money, I wouldn't do it. I would definitely audition.

Having said that, make sure whoever offered you the audition is official before auditioning. Check out the audition location ahead of time (with your dad) to make sure it's sage and legit, and try to speak with a main representative or ask to take a tour.

it is definitely a scam. if they ask you for money right off, i would be careful. that's a sure sign of a scam. that's what they did to me.
