Question:I'm a student playing with the Piedmont Wind Symphony, and one of the more basic pieces, Jungle Fantasy (arr. Naohiro Iwai) has a lot of glissandos; these are my weakest points. What can I do to improve the fluidity of the ascent/descent?

The best method, and i used this on guitar, is to use the first 3 fingers and then, once you have fluidity, add the 4th finger. This way, you won't have to worry about fluidity since the pinkie finger is stronger than the ring finger.

Practice them very slowly using very diliberate finger motions.

In order for me to give you good suggestions, I need to know what instrument you play!
