Here's the deal, Jen:

There are a lot of modeling agencies out there that are fakes. They'll ask you to pay a big fee up front, and then they'll get you nowhere. Legitimate agencies will not require you to do anything, they may recommend training or photographers or such, but if they do they'll always provide you with options, not "this is what our agency uses". The legit ones will make no money until you get paid, and then they get a small percentage.

Go into the phone book and look for modeling agencies. Call them and ask when they have open calls. You will be able to tell the legit ones from the fakes almost immediately. Go to calls with the legit ones. Good luck!
