Buying a classical guitar?

Question:What is a good brand classical guitar for around $250?
I've been playing guitar for years now but I have a fascination with flamenco music and would love to learn.
Any suggestions?

Well my dream classical guitar is a Remirez....their hand made in Spain....I think they start at about $2500.00 and I saw one on their web site for $10,000. Theirs another one called a Rubio, that is for sale on Liona Boyds web site.....I'd love to play that and see what it sounds like.....she use to play it in her concerts....and what a sound......the last time that I checked it was about $2,000, (second hand ) But I can't afford these expensive guitars.....the most I've ever spent was $1,500.00. I have another classical that I spent around the same for it's a Cordoba.....My first classical was a Yamaha believe it or not....and that was over twenty years ago.....and today it still sounds great....it was like a fine wine it go even better with age.....There's another great new guitar maker from the outback, his name is Greg Smallman..... talk about a great sounding guitar....I know someday that he'll be very famous for his work.....John Williams the very famous classical guitarist plays his guitars.....I can't even imagine what they cost....I can only dream of owning one of those . My Suggestion to you is to go to a reputable guitar store and try all the classicals in you budget......today they have some inexpensive guitars that have amazing sounds....but you have to play them in order to find the one that suits your sound and action....Go spend a couple of hours in a guitar store.... and buy the model that does that thing for you, the one that blows your mind !!!!!!! good luck to you. P. S. I just reread your question, you do know that there is a difference between classical guitar and flamenco, right ???? If not, ask when you go to check them out !!!!!!!!!

maybe for 250 you could get a squier(sp?) by fender
but with only $250 it'd be had to find a good guitar

Go to the store, and try every one you can find. Price is not always a deciding factor. I own four guitars, two electric, and two acoustic. I chose a $200 Mitchell over some very expensive guitars. It's personal preference.
