Position:Home>Performing Arts> High School Drill Team?

Question:I have to decide if I am still trying out for Drill Team. I really want to have all the fun they experience, and be involved with them. It seems really fun (:
But, I am not a dance person [I dance horribly], can't do the middle splits, barely can do leg kicks, not flexible and take long to get a dance rountine. I have to decide now if I am going to tryout or not. I don't want to make a fool of myself or waste my time practicing on something that I can't do. Should I still tryout for Drill Team? Thank you.

YESS!! Go for it! You never know until you audition what you are for! The key thing for drill team audition is a good attitude and practice. Auditioning is a great way to get to know other girls and to gain experience and confidence. Just stay positive and enjoy the ride girl. It will be something you won't forget!! Good luck!

Unless this is your school's alternative of a dance team, you'll be fine dancewise. Minimal dance technique will be needed. A dancing background would help you, but having none will not harm you. Trust me, you'll become more flexible if you make it and stick with drill team. All that practicing will make you earn your P.E. credits! If your worried about your dancing, take a dance class over the summer, or stretch at home. It shouldn't be a huge deal. Good luck!
