Position:Home>Performing Arts> Playing guitar standing?

Question:I've been playing for nearly 3 years but i've had almost no reason to practice standing. while standing, I can play pretty much any rhythm just fine and leads on the lower end of the neck aren't too much trouble. The problem is leads up higher than about the 9th fret. Obviously practice is what it's going to take, i just wanted to see if anyone had any tips. thanks!

You really just need to practice, it's no different, your body just needs to get used to this new position.

I do not see what you mean-playing standing is great and you should be able to play high.......mor details plz

practice with other people

get a strap

um no

i would advu your guitar strap to hit hte higher notes. Yeah i have problems playing higher notes while stanging because i keep my guitar at the lowest the strap can be.

I'm the same way, I've always played sitting down. I don't think I could ever play standing up. I would only play standing for a while, see if you can retrain your hand to play this way.

Yeah, practice is going to do it.

Make sure your strap is short. Not too short so that the guitar is up to your neck, but, even though most people like having the guitar all the way down to their knees, this is hard on the wrist, and makes it harder to play.

Practice standing in front of mirror while playing so you can see how your body and guitar are and if you can adjust yourself or gutiar to make it easier

I mean, there is not much to say, if you are using your strap that is.
