The best way is to do isometric fingering. finger tap 1-2-3-4- or 4-3-2-1- or 1-4-2-3 or 1-4-3-2- etc.... Make sure your wrist is not touching the table and finger tap soft and hard.

This is very good exercise for finger strength and practice. I do it al the time when I am on the road especially in winter. Your fingers get stiff.

well... i guess you could study the notes of the song ur working on...or AIR GUITAR

You can memorise the chords in your head and visualise them through the day.
You could make up flash cards for both chords and single notes to help you learn to read music.
Runn through all the notes of the fingerboard in your head.

This could be a great way to spend a maths lesson but you will probably flunk maths. LOL

GUITAR HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

draw the notes of the fret board.
Draw notes of all the scales.
Create, on a drawing of the fret board all types, and Keys, of chords.

Majors, Minors, Maj7, Sevenths, Nineths, 13th, add 9's, etc.

And create arpegios on paper.

You will learn how play on paper.

How are you going to get away with this at school or work, oh well ???? Here's what I heard that Christopher Parkening did when he was in the army. ( He's a very famous classical guitarist ) He had what represented a guitar neck, not as long as an electric.....maybe twelve frets....get someone to carve it for you....make it the correct size of the guitar neck, if your guitar neck is a little beveled do that also...... and draw on the frets and make your left hand fingers dance up and down. Chris said it worked for him, and look at where he's at !!!!!!!!!!
