I know its frustrating. But you'll get good when you enjoy playing it, no matter how lousey you are at it. When you play guitar for the love of playing guitar. Don't play for other people until you want to. Don't worry about 'good', learn songs, theory, and all that good classic work book stuff, but reserve a little time for playtime, and bonding with your guitar. Keep it fun. You might already be good. Especially for how long you've been playing, most people, don't put that kind of time into it.

It probably depends on how good you practice. How well you practice. And what you do when you practice. If you practice for 3 hours but only play one note I doubt that will make you very good at all. My friend said he's been playing for 2 years and he practices like 2-3 hourse a day or something like that and he's pretty good.

That's hard to say... If you have"it" about a month.... If you have a good teacher , your axe fits (you) , and you can all ready "feel" the music you are trying to play. The more you want it the quicker you will become better . Even if you hate practicing , if you do it (right) , any body will get good after time. Investing in proper education and equipment will greatly increase your chances of being "great" in no time at all.

Guitar is like chess. Anybody can learn the moves, but to get really good takes years of study.

A couple of hours to learn one song well.
