anyway my question is how do u know how many strums (not sure if thats the right word) for each chord or w/e

First of all, you'll have to learn different styles. One song can be played many different ways. It all depends on how you want to perform it. That particular song can be played slow to moderate, with a single strum, or a little faster as a Cha Cha style. Listen to the song, and pick a style. Make it your own. Don't always try to copy someone else.

chord workups like this take into account that you listen to the song while playing along. If you want strums as well, look for tab (tabulature), as they'll tell you when to strum in the measure. No lyrics, however.
