I have a trumpet and now can't play it - i know it is to do with putting val

Question:There should be a small "1" on the first valve (the valve closest to your mouth), a small "2" engraved in the second, and "3" on the third. (The numbers are on the side of the valve near the bottom of the valve). Look at the holes in the valve itself and then look at the arrangement of the tubes that come in and out of the empty valve case (where the valve is supposed to go). Try to line up the holes of the valve itself with the tubes and push the valve in. Then "fine-tune" the placement by turning the valve slightly until the valve clicks in. Hope this helps.
