Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Hey Everyone!!!!! =] Does anyone know any good classic broadway songs that are sung by one person???? i am gonna usea broadway song for an audition! please help me thanks in advance to everyone! OMG theres so many haha well it depends on the audition if is for a non character voice musical go for jekyll and hyde brooklyn aida the lion king the colour purple phantom of the opera wicked Chicago The drowsy chaperone throughly modern millie grease rent ragtime footloose and for character voices avenue Q your a good man charlie brown i love you, your perfect now change 25th annual putnam spelling bee hairspray wicked leegally blonde seussical the musical spamolot thats all i can think of right now POPULAR im not sure what broadway show that was from it might be from WICKED What's your voice range? I personally like "Not A Day Goes By" by Sondheim. It really shows your range of emotion as well as vocal range. Alternately, you could go for "Unexpected Song" by Andrew Lloyd Webber. It's definately for a high soprano voice. Uh. The infamous "Memory" also by Webber is good for a lower voice. It really depends on your range. Go get a Best of Broadway CD There are a million good ones (Character Sang By) Phantom Of The Opera: Think of Me(Sang by Christine Daee) Les Miserables: On My Own (Sang by Epioniene) Guys and Dolls : If I Were A Bell (Sang by Mrs. Sarah) There are tons more, if you just do some minimal research, there are several in Guys and Dolls! "On My Own" is a very powerful song, it's sure to move the judges, even if you dont have a very good voice, the lyrics are still beautiful! Here's some shows and songs that I've personally seen: WICKED: Popular, I'm Not That Girl Grease: Hopelessly Devoted To You, Greased Lightning Hairspray: Good Morning Baltimore, Ladie's Choice, It Takes Two, I Can Hear The Bells The Lion King: They Live In You Good luck with your audition! |
