Pajama Game the Musical?

Question:My Highschool is doing the production of the "Pajama Game", and I heard through the grape vine that the our director is thinking about giving me the part of Mae?? Is that a good part? Does she have a solo in the musical?? But, I want a lead role so, I kind of wanted Babe, what do I need to show my director in my audition to show him that im good for that role??
Any help?? Suggestions?
